150 Ways To Earn Instant Affiliate Commissions

It’s funny thinking about it now[private_free] [firstname][/private_free], but when I first started working on the Internet back in about 1994 the affiliate industry was a completely different beast to the slick billion dollar machine that we’re so familiar with today.

For starters, I think you could probably count the number of affiliate programs on one hand. Amazon were the leader of the pack at the time, but as the majority of people quickly discovered, selling a zillion books and making 10 cents each on them was never going to make anyone rich quick. Not even Amazon, as it turned out.

There were a few other “big ones”, mostly in the dating and casino game, but not many and of those that did exist, the tracking was diabolical, the commissions were paltry by today’s standards, and get this… you could wait anything from a month to 3 months to be paid! Everything was done by check and being in the UK, I’d have to wait another 6 weeks from receiving the checks to the bank clearing them too!

It’s all change now, thankfully. These days there are more affiliate opportunities than there’s ever been, most have vastly improved sales tracking systems, and if I can’t get paid by either PayPal or bank transfer nowadays I usually don’t want to know. Turnover is everything in this game and getting paid quickly means that you can quickly reinvest in more profitable affiliate promotions, which is key.

I can’t stress that point enough to you. While everyone else is running around trying to learn everything they can about websites, web hosting, traffic generation, SEO, and all of that “stuff”, your number one priority as an affiliate should simply be to get money in the door as quickly and easily as possible!

Sure, knowing all of that other stuff is useful, but it isn’t essential. In fact, many of the highly paid affiliates I know don’t get involved in any technical stuff at all and some wouldn’t have a clue where to start ;-)
