Yeah, I’ve come to realize that about their support too. I tried a couple of times in the last week, but didn’t get a response. Feedburner and services like that are the same. They’re free services, who – the two of those anyway – just happen to be the leaders in their field and the FAQs on their site are often about the best support you’ll get. What can you do? They’re great in a lot of other ways.

Google is the same come to think of it. That’s like calling one of those call centers who make you press about twenty buttons to get through to someone…. only with Google you start on their website, work your way through loads of FAQs, then try to call them and you still need to press another twenty buttons before you can speak to someone. And you know what they tell you to do? Yep….. “look at the FAQs!”.

I sound like a grumpy old man now, don’t I? I really should stop that :-)

Thanks for the tips on claiming Twitter accounts. You’re right, with all the work you put into Twitter, you should be getting some SERP recognition too.

Just claimed mine and it’s all good.

I had a lot of trouble claiming my blog initially, and couldn’t get any help from Technorati by submitting support tickets, so I went to the support forum and asked if “anyone” knew how to claim my blog, and stated that I couldn’t get a response from Technorati support. Within 20 minutes they responded and told me what was going wrong. IMO the only way to get them to respond in a timely manner is to call them out in their support forum so that they have to respond or they look bad.

It wont accept twiter.com/www_scunt_co_uk but it will accept http://www.twitter.com/www_scunt_co_uk.

Not sure why the www. would help – but it still wont accept that the code is there.

Three individual people told me it worked for them yesterday, so I guess Technorati have resolved whatever problems they were having.

I’ve already found some posts on Technorati where I was mentioned and am thrilled with what I’m finding – as there is very good information with lots more Twitterers to follow.

I’ve had problems claiming blogs on Technorati before too actually. I always seem to have problems with magazine type blog designs for some reason – who knows why.

So it would appear that Technorati STILL allow it! :D

I’m not sure if this is because they’re no longer allowing Twitter accounts, or if their claim blog feature is having problems. I just tried to claim a normal blog and it wouldn’t let me do that either, so it’s possible it is that.

I’ll try it later on today too…

We might need to keep an eye on this over the next couple of days. Maybe blasting Twitter with news of how to list your T account on Technorati wasn’t such a good idea… :)

You’re the second person to say this since last night, so it is possible that they aren’t allowing Twitter pages now. I can’t really see why they wouldn’t though, because although the messages are a lot shorter on T it’s still blogging of sorts, albeit micro-blogging, so you would think that would be OK. Not sure to be honest.

It definitely has been working…

I average about 30 updates a day, in all of my updates were posted on Technorati. So if you’re having trouble finding out where your updates are, just go in and make it a favorite and magically all of your updates will appear.

I’ve attempted as well, however Technorati appears now not to be accepting Twitter.com urls… I wonder if they’ve got wise to this and are excluding now??

I did a search on Technorati for some of your recent twitter posts to check that way if it was working, however couldn’t find any results. Have you yet seen any listings/examples of it working? If so can you post an example?

I agree with you 100%. I only thought of this last night and I honestly couldn’t tell you what kind of results to expect from it, but like you say it’s helping you to gain authority and surely having updates firing into Technorati and being syndicated by other websites all day long can’t be a bad thing :)

1) you gain authority when other blogs mention your name – my twitter name, @jdvarlaro, was on a couple of websites, so it appeared on my technorati page

2) it opens the door to ‘peer reviewed’ twitter users. I think this could begin to close the door on a lot of those self-proclaimed experts who just spam all day. And this is a better, more democratic method as opposed to the new fade of posting your ‘unfollowed’ list.
